At UNIQAESTHETICS® we see ourselves as a network of medical specialists. We guarantee highly trained staff who take care of your needs and your well-being – because cosmetic surgery is a matter of trust!
Plastic surgery is a fascinating surgical discipline that can draw on a wealth of different surgical methods to solve a variety of surgical problems. No other discipline combines craftsmanship, art and precision like plastic surgery.
The biggest problem today is the term “cosmetic surgery”. This is not protected, meaning that any specialist in any specialty can perform cosmetic surgery, which in plain language means that any surgeon, even any internist, can – and does – perform surgical procedures.
The qualification as a “Specialist in Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery” comprises at least 6 years of training in both reconstructive and aesthetic surgery. This is followed by numerous further training opportunities and so-called fellowships with renowned colleagues, which have only been made possible by our specialist society, the DGPRÄC. No other specialist discipline offers anywhere near such a standard. This is also reflected in the title “Specialist in Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery”, which was established a few years ago to differentiate us from other specialist areas that also offer aesthetic surgery. Sound training in the anatomy of the human body is a mandatory prerequisite for achieving a specialist qualification.
The patient comes to our practice with a concern. However, cosmetic surgery should not be a discount business that attracts patients by means of price, discounts, partner rates or similar. Rather, patients should find out about the doctor’s professional background and qualifications in advance. My own credo, which I have followed for many years and in which I firmly believe, is: “Advantage through quality”. This motto works very well for me and will always be the most elementary component of my actions.
As a plastic surgeon, the Unna location offers me several advantages. Primarily, UNIQAESTHETICS® offers me optimal conditions in terms of the practice clinic, where I can concentrate fully on medicine and thus take care of the patient. Top equipment and a great team of staff round off the system. Unna itself is not only attractive as a town on the edge of the Ruhr area, but also has very good transport links via the directly adjacent A 1, A 2 and A 44 highways and the nearby Dortmund airport. We have direct access to the Ruhr area, Sauerland and Münsterland as far as the Weserbergland. Last but not least, I know Unna and its surroundings from my youth, I practically grew up here and simply feel completely at home here.

Dr. Tino Schulz, born in Dortmund, studied medicine at the Ruhr University in Bochum and graduated at the end of 2003.
He then worked for several years as a junior doctor in hand, breast and plastic surgery in Neustadt in Holstein on the Baltic Sea, where he underwent in-depth and wide-ranging training in plastic surgery as well as visceral and trauma surgery, including intensive care rotations.
In 2009, he moved to the Lubinus Clinicum in Kiel and then followed his former boss to the University Medical Center Schleswig-Holstein, Kiel Campus, to set up a new department for plastic surgery. The expansion of hand surgery and microsurgical reconstruction with freely transplanted tissue were just some of the procedures he frequently performed, along with sarcoma surgery. Dr. Schulz was employed there as a senior physician from November 2011.
In 2013, he moved back to the Lubinus Clinicum Kiel as deputy head physician. Among other things, the Lubinus Clinicum was the most established address for breast reconstruction with autologous tissue after breast cancer, even beyond the borders of Schleswig-Holstein.
His further path led him via Bremerhaven, where he worked as a senior consultant, back to North Rhine-Westphalia in 2015. Since September 2015, Dr. Tino Schulz has worked as a senior consultant at Sana Hospital Düsseldorf, one of the most renowned addresses for breast surgery, in particular breast reconstruction using autologous tissue. The Department of Plastic Surgery there enjoys an excellent national and international reputation. In 2017, Dr. Tino Schulz also took on the position of Head of Reconstructive and Aesthetic Facial Surgery in the department.
Dr. Schulz is also responsible for breast reconstruction using autologous tissue with his expertise at the University Hospital of Cologne. Since 2019, Dr. Tino Schulz has also worked in plastic and aesthetic surgery at the UNIQAESTHETICS® practice clinic as a partner of Dr. Himmelmann with a focus on facial and breast surgery as well as body lifting and shaping.
