Autologous fat, implants, hybrid: the three types of breast augmentation.

Breast augmentation is more than just a surgical procedure, it is an art. That is why we talk to our patients in detail about their expectations regarding the desired volume and aesthetic result. This is how we find out whether breast augmentation with autologous fat, silicone implants or a so-called hybrid breast augmentation, a combination of both forms of treatment, is more suitable.

The autologous fat treatment is a real alternative for women who want a discreet breast augmentation and for whom silicone implants are out of the question or unsuitable. The prerequisite is that there is sufficient fat on the abdomen, buttocks or thighs, which we can remove by liposuction. Using the particularly gentle procedure of water-jet assisted liposuction, we can extract intact fat cells, prepare them and then inject them into the breast using fine cannulas.

The result is a very natural-looking breast that retains its usual feel. With this procedure, we can also compensate for small asymmetries between the breasts very aesthetically. If a larger cup size is desired at a later date, the procedure can be repeated without any problems, even in combination with implants. A major advantage of this procedure is that it leaves only small scars and causes minimal stress to the skin. The recovery time is relatively short.

Breast augmentation with silicone implants is an established method. Various breast sizes and shapes can be achieved with this procedure, including larger cup sizes. Our modern implants are filled with an elastic gel that feels and moves like natural breast tissue. Together with the patient, our surgeon decides which shape and size best suits her physique.

When making the incision, we ensure that the scars remain as invisible as possible in the underbust furrows. The implant is either pushed under the pectoral muscle or placed behind the breast tissue above the pectoral muscle. With the “dual plane technique”, a combination of the two procedures, which is used particularly after pregnancy, we can place the implant very precisely and shape the appearance of the breast very naturally.

The first step is to clarify all your questions in a detailed consultation. We discuss possible risks and complications and address your wishes.

2. preliminary examination:
We always carry out comprehensive preliminary examinations before a surgical procedure. This ensures that there are no pathological changes in the breast.

3. surgical procedure:
Breast augmentations are generally performed under general anesthesia. The operation takes about 1 to 1.5 hours. At the end, we insert soft drains to drain the wound water. You will then remain in our clinic for 1 night for observation.

4. wound care and follow-up treatment:
After the operation, you will receive a compression bra from us. You must wear this consistently day and night for 6 weeks. It takes a while for the implant and/or the autologous fat tissue to grow in and attach optimally.

5. monitoring and control:

Who can and may have a breast augmentation.

When will I see the final result with autologous fat or implants?
