Liposuction is the most frequently performed procedure in aesthetic surgery. No wonder, because most people want a slim and toned body.
Gentle liposuction: The gentle power of the water jet
Liposuction with a water jet (WAL) is a particularly gentle procedure that makes your dream figure come true. The comparatively uncomplicated procedure removes unwanted fat deposits and shapes aesthetic contours. The results of this painless method are immediately visible, so patients can enjoy them straight away. The surgeon has full visual control of their work during the procedure, so there are no unpleasant surprises later on. Water-jet assisted liposuction can be performed on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia. This means for the patient: Less stress on the body and a shorter downtime.
Here’s how it works: the tissue is first locally anaesthetized by the water, which is mixed with an anaesthetic, so there is no need for anaesthesia. The fatty tissue is then gently loosened by the power of the water alone and suctioned out again directly together with the water.
In contrast to conventional liposuction, the tissue is not swollen beforehand with liters of tumescent solution during this gentle liposuction procedure. The rapid suctioning of the fat-water mixture means that the fluid does not remain in the body for long – the amount of residual fluid is reduced and tissue damage is avoided.
The water jet procedure does not require the mechanical vibration that is common in liposuction, where the cannula is moved violently by a motor. This puts much less strain on the tissue and allows it to heal more quickly.
Another advantage of water jet liposuction is the possibility of using the removed fat for a transplant or injection. Depending on the size of the fat deposit removed, it can be used for high-quality treatment to plump up breasts, buttocks or facial wrinkles.
The water-jet assisted liposuction performed by UNIQAESTHETICS® is carried out using the modern, market-leading body-jet® device. The device is suitable for any type of fat pad and for any body region.

Does liposuctioned fat come back?
No, weight fluctuations will have less effect on a body region that has previously been freed of fatty tissue than before the procedure. However, it should be noted that permanent weight loss cannot be achieved by gentle liposuction alone, as exercise and a healthy, wholesome diet are also necessary. Otherwise, undesirable redistribution of fatty tissue may well occur.
Here, too, a transplant with autologous fat is a preventive measure to control the distribution of fat.
Gentle liposuction with a water jet: what you should bear in mind
Just as with conventional liposuction, patients undergoing WAL liposuction should be physically healthy and as active as possible in order to maintain the effects of the treatment in the long term. Although the WAL method does not require anesthesia and is generally gentle on the tissue and the body, it is preceded by a personal consultation at UNIQAESTHETICS® to clarify all open questions and prepare for the treatment in the best possible way.
Arrange a consultation appointment directly online, where you can ask your questions and receive individual advice from our specialists. To prepare for the consultation, you can find more information on the topic here if required: “Liposuction” at UNIQAESTHETICS®.
